Refund policy

This policy forms part of our General Terms and Conditions (GTC). Terms such as «Seller» and «Customer» have the same meaning as defined there.

1. Statutory right of withdrawal for deliveries to the European Union

If you order as a consumer residing in the European Union and the goods are delivered to the EU, you have a statutory right of withdrawal.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period begins on the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Sitlit GmbH, Lehenmattstrasse 353, 4052 Basel, Switzerland, info@sitlit.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online at https://sitlit.com/a/withdrawal («Cancel contract»). If you use this online function, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt by email without delay, including the content of your withdrawal and the date and time of its receipt.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

If you purchased several goods in a single order, you may also withdraw from the contract for individual goods only.

Goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal.

Effects of withdrawal: If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

After exercising your withdrawal, you shall send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you informed us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

Return costs: You will bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

Compensation for loss of value: You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Pre-orders: You can withdraw from a pre-order from the conclusion of the contract, i.e. also during the production or waiting period. However, for all goods, including pre-orders, the 14-day withdrawal period only begins on the day on which you or a third party designated by you take possession of the goods. If you withdraw from a pre-order before shipment, we will refund the payment already made within 14 days of receipt of your notice of withdrawal.

2. Voluntary 14-day right of return

We grant all customers a voluntary right of return until the 14th day after receipt of the goods. This right of return is voluntary and does not constitute a legal entitlement. It applies under the conditions set out below and may be refused in individual cases, in particular in the event of abuse.

Excluded from the voluntary right of return are custom-made or personalised products as well as reduced items («Sale»), provided this was expressly stated at the time of purchase.

Relationship to the statutory right of withdrawal (EU customers): For consumers residing in the European Union, only the statutory right of withdrawal under section 1 applies.

Conditions: The item must be in the same condition in which you received it: unused, with labels attached and in its original packaging. Proof of purchase is required. A return must be requested in advance in accordance with section 3 below.

Return costs: The Customer bears the cost of return shipping.

Pre-orders: You can withdraw from a pre-order from the conclusion of the contract, i.e. also during the production or waiting period. However, for all goods, including pre-orders, the 14-day period only begins upon receipt of the goods. If you withdraw from a pre-order before shipment, we will refund the payment already made within 14 days of receipt of your notice of withdrawal.

3. Initiating a return

To initiate a return under the voluntary right of return (section 2), please contact us at info@sitlit.com or Sitlit GmbH, Lehenmattstrasse 353, 4052 Basel, Switzerland. After reviewing your request, you will receive instructions for shipping. We may refuse goods sent back without a prior request.

No prior request is required to exercise the statutory right of withdrawal (section 1); an informal declaration of withdrawal is sufficient.

4. Damage and incorrect deliveries

Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt and contact us without delay if an item is defective or damaged or if you have received an incorrect delivery. Your statutory warranty rights under our GTC remain unaffected by this policy.

5. Exchanges

Direct exchanges are not offered. The quickest way to get the item you want is to return it in accordance with this policy and then place a separate new order.

6. Refunds

Statutory withdrawal (section 1): The refund is made at the latest within 14 days of receipt of your notice of withdrawal, using the same means of payment that you used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.

We may, however, withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

Voluntary return (section 2): We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and let you know whether the return has been accepted. If accepted, you will receive the refund to your original means of payment within 14 days of confirmation of acceptance. It may take some additional time for your bank or card issuer to process the credit. If more than 14 days have passed since our confirmation of acceptance and you have not received the refund, please contact us at info@sitlit.com or Sitlit GmbH, Lehenmattstrasse 353, 4052 Basel, Switzerland.
