Terms of service
This English version is provided for convenience only. The German version is legally binding.
For sitlit.com · Version: 22 October 2026
§ 1 Scope
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter «GTC») apply to all offers, deliveries and services of Sitlit GmbH, Lehenmattstrasse 353, 4052 Basel, Switzerland, CHE-216.678.887 (hereinafter «Seller») to its customers (hereinafter «Customer»).
1.2 Amendments to these GTC require an express written agreement between the parties. Conflicting or deviating terms and conditions of the Customer shall not apply unless their validity has been expressly agreed in writing.
§ 2 Conclusion of the contract
2.1 The presentation of goods in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but a non-binding invitation to place an order. The purchase contract is only concluded through the Customer's order and our confirmation in accordance with clause 2.3. No liability is accepted for printing or display errors.
2.2 The Customer may place the desired goods in the shopping cart without obligation and correct their entries at any time before submitting the order. By clicking the «Jetzt kaufen» («Buy now») button, the Customer submits a binding offer to conclude a purchase contract for the goods contained in the shopping cart. The offer can only be submitted if the Customer, by ticking the corresponding checkbox, accepts these GTC, the Withdrawal and Return Policy and the Shipping Terms and thereby incorporates them into their offer.
2.3 The Seller confirms the order by email («Order Confirmation»). With this Order Confirmation, the Seller accepts the Customer's offer and the purchase contract is concluded. The shipping confirmation sent later serves only to inform the Customer about the shipment.
2.4 The online shop may offer goods as a pre-order («Pre-Order») or as goods available for immediate delivery. The applicable availability is shown in the online shop for the respective goods. Pre-orders are subject to the provisions of § 5 of these GTC.
2.5 The Seller reserves the right to reject an order without stating reasons. In this case, payments already made will be refunded without delay, at the latest within 14 days and without interest. Further claims of the Customer are excluded unless the rejection is based on a breach of duty committed by the Seller intentionally or through gross negligence.
2.6 Orders by minors are only permitted with the consent of their legal representative.
2.7 Accessories, decorations and the like shown in product images are not part of the offer unless they are expressly included. Minor deviations in colour, finish and texture from the goods shown in the online shop are reserved.
§ 3 Prices and terms of payment
3.1 All prices are shown in the online shop in the currency displayed during the ordering process. Unless stated otherwise, prices are based on Swiss francs (CHF). Prices include the applicable statutory value added tax.
3.2 Unless the online shop expressly states «free shipping», shipping costs are charged in addition. The total purchase price including applicable value added tax and any shipping costs is displayed to the Customer before the order is submitted.
3.3 For deliveries to customers with a delivery address in the European Union, the price shown in the online shop includes the charges incurred on import (import VAT and, where applicable, customs duties). The Seller handles customs clearance and the payment of these charges; the Customer incurs no further costs upon delivery.
3.4 The full purchase price is due upon conclusion of the purchase contract in accordance with clause 2.3. Payment is made using the payment methods offered in the online shop. The available methods may vary depending on the country and the order. If payment is not received by the Seller after conclusion of the contract or is reversed, the Seller is entitled to cancel the order.
3.5 If the order is rejected or cancelled by the Seller, or if delivery does not take place for other reasons, payments already made will be refunded within 14 days.
3.6 In the event of late payment, the Seller is entitled to suspend further deliveries to the Customer without further notice until payment has been received or secured. The Seller is further entitled to charge default interest to the extent permitted by law. From the second reminder onwards, a reminder fee of CHF 15.00 is charged; the Customer is entitled to prove that the Seller incurred no reminder costs at all or costs significantly lower than this flat fee.
§ 4 Delivery, shipping and transfer of risk
4.1 Delivery periods and delivery dates in the online shop and in the Order Confirmation are non-binding unless expressly designated as binding. If delivery is delayed by more than 30 days compared with the estimated delivery date communicated at the time of the order, the Customer may set the Seller a reasonable grace period. If the Seller fails to deliver within this grace period, the Customer may withdraw from the contract.
4.2 Delivery is made to the delivery address specified by the Customer. The delivery address may differ from the billing address but must be within the delivery areas offered. If no delivery address is specified, delivery is made to the billing address.
4.3 The risk passes to the Customer when the goods are handed over to the transport company. For consumers, the risk only passes upon handover of the goods to the Customer or to a third party designated by the Customer, insofar as mandatory law so provides.
4.4 Partial deliveries are permitted. Further details on delivery areas, shipping costs and delivery times are set out in the separate Shipping Terms, which form part of these GTC.
4.5 If the Customer does not accept the goods upon delivery, the Seller or the transport company commissioned by the Seller is entitled to leave the goods at a suitable location or to deposit them. The risk of accidental loss or accidental deterioration passes to the Customer at that point. If delivery fails completely for reasons for which the Customer is responsible (e.g. incorrect address, failure to collect, refusal of acceptance), the Seller shall set a reasonable grace period for renewed delivery; if this is unsuccessful, the Seller may withdraw from the contract and offset the additional costs incurred against the refund. Mandatory rights of the Customer, in particular the right of withdrawal under § 8, remain reserved.
§ 5 Special provisions for pre-orders
5.1 Goods expressly marked in the online shop as «Vorbestellung» or «Pre-Order» are only produced or procured after receipt of the order. The estimated delivery date stated in the online shop or in the Order Confirmation is non-binding and may be postponed, in particular due to delays in production, certification, materials or the supply chain. The Seller will inform the Customer of significant delays.
5.2 The purchase price becomes due upon conclusion of the purchase contract in accordance with clause 2.3 and is collected via the payment method chosen by the Customer.
5.3 The Seller reserves the right to make minor technical or design adjustments to the ordered goods (e.g. colour shades, material sources, packaging), provided that the functionality, safety and value of the goods are not significantly impaired.
5.4 If a pre-order campaign does not take place due to insufficient demand, for production or procurement reasons, or because a minimum order quantity is not reached, the Seller is entitled to withdraw from the contract. Payments already made will be refunded to the Customer in full within 14 days.
5.5 If delivery of a pre-order is delayed by more than 90 days compared with the estimated delivery date most recently communicated at the time of the order, the Customer may set the Seller a reasonable grace period. If the Seller fails to deliver within this grace period, the Customer may withdraw from the contract. Mandatory statutory rights of the Customer in the event of late delivery remain unaffected in all cases.
§ 6 Retention of title
6.1 The Seller retains title to the delivered goods until the purchase price, including any shipping costs, has been paid in full.
6.2 For customers domiciled in Switzerland, the Seller is entitled to have the retention of title entered in the register of retention of title at the Customer's place of residence at the Customer's expense.
6.3 As long as title has not passed to the Customer, the Customer is not entitled to sell, encumber or otherwise dispose of the products subject to retention of title, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
§ 7 Set-off and right of retention
7.1 The Customer is only entitled to set off counterclaims insofar as these are undisputed, have been finally established by a court or have been acknowledged by the Seller. The Customer may only assert a right of retention insofar as the counterclaim is based on the same contractual relationship. Mandatory statutory rights of the Customer remain unaffected.
§ 8 Right of withdrawal and return
8.1 Customers to whom mandatory consumer protection provisions of the European Union or of an EU member state apply have the statutory right of withdrawal in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions. The details, in particular regarding the period, exercise and consequences of withdrawal, are set out in the separate Withdrawal and Return Policy, which forms part of these GTC.
8.2 Irrespective of this, the Seller grants all other customers a voluntary right of return of 14 days from receipt of the goods. The conditions and consequences of this voluntary right of return are set out in the separate Withdrawal and Return Policy.
8.3 The statutory right of withdrawal and the voluntary right of return do not apply to products manufactured to the Customer's specifications or clearly tailored to the Customer's personal needs.
8.4 The Customer bears the costs of return shipping unless mandatory law provides otherwise. This also applies when a statutory right of withdrawal is exercised.
§ 9 Warranty
9.1 The Seller provides a warranty for material defects and defects of title of the delivered goods in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions. The warranty period is two years from delivery of the goods, unless mandatory law provides for a longer period.
9.2 The Customer is obliged to inspect the goods immediately upon receipt and to notify the Seller in writing of any identifiable defects, incorrect deliveries and transport damage without delay, but no later than seven days after receipt, insofar as legally permissible. Transport damage must also be reported to the responsible transport company without delay and, where possible, confirmed in writing.
9.3 This obligation does not apply to consumers who can rely on mandatory statutory provisions that exclude an obligation to inspect and give notice of defects. These consumers are nevertheless asked to report any defects, incorrect deliveries and transport damage to the Seller as soon as possible. Failure to report or late reporting does not affect their statutory warranty rights.
9.4 If a defect exists, the Seller is entitled to remedy it by repair or replacement. Insofar as the Customer has a right to choose between repair and replacement under mandatory law, this right remains reserved. If repair or replacement is impossible, disproportionate or unsuccessful, the Customer's further rights are governed by the applicable statutory provisions.
9.5 No warranty applies to defects or damage resulting from normal wear and tear, improper or unintended use, failure to observe the instructions for use or unauthorised modifications to the goods.
9.6 Our goods are children's products and are subject to special safety requirements. Before first use, the Customer must read and observe the enclosed instructions for use, warnings and safety instructions as well as the information on age recommendations, weight limits and intended use. The Seller is not liable for damage resulting from use outside the stated age or weight recommendations, failure to observe the safety instructions and warnings, or use other than as intended, subject to the liability provisions in § 10 of these GTC.
9.7 If the goods require assembly, assembly must be carried out in accordance with the enclosed assembly instructions. The Seller is not liable for defects or damage resulting from incorrect, incomplete or non-compliant assembly, unless the incorrect assembly is due to defective assembly instructions provided by the Seller. Before use, the Customer must check the assembled goods for correct assembly, strength and stability.
§ 10 Liability
10.1 Liability claims for slight negligence, consequential damage, loss of profit or other indirect damage are excluded in principle, insofar as legally permissible. This also applies to damage resulting from a delay in delivery.
10.2 Insofar as an exclusion of liability for slight negligence is not permitted under mandatory statutory provisions, the following applies: in the event of a slightly negligent breach of non-essential contractual obligations, liability is excluded. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract at the time the contract was concluded. Essential contractual obligations are those whose fulfilment is a prerequisite for the proper performance of the contract and whose breach jeopardises the achievement of the purpose of the contract. This also applies to damage resulting from delays in delivery.
10.3 Liability for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and mandatory statutory liability provisions, in particular under the applicable product liability law, remain reserved.
10.4 Insofar as the Seller's liability is excluded or limited, this also applies to the personal liability of its employees, staff, legal representatives and vicarious agents.
§ 11 Force majeure
11.1 The Seller is not liable for non-performance or delayed performance of its contractual obligations if and as long as this is due to events beyond its reasonable control. These include in particular natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, war, terrorism, official measures, strikes and significant, unforeseeable disruptions to supply or transport chains. The Seller's obligations to perform are suspended for the duration and to the extent of the impediment.
11.2 The Seller will inform the Customer of the occurrence of such an event and, where possible, of the expected duration of the impediment. If the impediment lasts so long that continued performance of the contract can no longer reasonably be expected of a party, that party may withdraw from the contract. In this case, payments already made for services not yet rendered will be refunded within 14 days. Mandatory statutory rights of the Customer remain reserved.
§ 12 Data protection
12.1 The Seller processes personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection provisions, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
12.2 Details of data processing are set out in the separate Privacy Policy, which is available in the online shop.
§ 13 Copyright and terms of use
13.1 All content of the online shop, in particular texts, images, graphics, photos, videos and software, is protected by copyright or otherwise legally protected. Any use, reproduction, editing or redistribution of this content without the Seller's prior written consent is not permitted.
13.2 The online shop may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites. The Seller has no influence on their content. The respective provider is solely responsible for the content of linked pages.
13.3 The Seller endeavours to keep the information provided in the online shop up to date, complete and correct. However, the Seller accepts no liability for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of information that does not form part of a contract with the Customer, insofar as legally permissible.
§ 14 Customer service and complaints
The Seller's customer service is responsible for questions and complaints regarding goods and their delivery:

§ 15 Final provisions
15.1 Should individual provisions of these GTC be wholly or partly invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by the relevant statutory provisions.
15.2 Mandatory statutory provisions for the protection of consumers remain unaffected.
15.3 The Seller is entitled to transfer or assign rights and obligations under these GTC or under a contract, in whole or in part, to third parties, insofar as this is legally permissible. The Customer is not entitled to assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these GTC without the Seller's written consent.
15.4 The Seller's failure to enforce individual provisions of these GTC does not constitute a waiver of the rights concerned.
15.5 The Seller reserves the right to amend these GTC. The version valid at the time of the order applies.
§ 16 Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
16.1 Swiss law applies exclusively, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods of 11 April 1980 (Vienna Sales Convention / CISG).
16.2 For customers to whom mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence apply, these provisions apply in addition. The choice of Swiss law does not apply insofar as the Customer can mandatorily rely on these provisions.
16.3 The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with the contract is the Seller's registered office in Basel, Switzerland. Consumers domiciled outside Switzerland retain the right to sue the Seller at the court of their place of residence, insofar as mandatory law so provides. All other mandatory statutory places of jurisdiction in favour of consumers also remain reserved.
Note: With every order placed via the online shop, the Customer confirms acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions, the Withdrawal and Return Policy and the Shipping Terms.
